Dessert time was always a favorite in my house when I was growing up, it is a long going tradition that I promised myself I would maintain when I had my own children. Most times growing up my mom resorted to boxed Entenmanns desserts, but when she wasn’t chasing four girls around and maintaining a home she would make mouthwatering from scratch desserts. The best besides eating it, was getting to enjoy the smell while it was baking, regardless of the type of dessert. This is my encouragement to bake, if not on a daily basis at least 2 times a week, once during the week and at least once on the weekends.
One of my favorite desserts to make are blondies, well besides the obvious that it is a dessert after my own kind, I am also a lover of vanilla and caramel. I love to experiment and try new recipes, today I discovered a fantastic recipe on Pinterest from “A Pumpkin & A Princess”, you can find the link for their website below.
These blondies are the perfect balance of salty and sweet, I opted for walnuts as they are always my go to nut, which they really worked out great. Plate them with a scoop of your favorite ice cream, and a drizzle of caramel and you have the making for a delicious dessert, or maybe a midday snack as I indulged.
